Our curriculum develops your creativity and technical skills through intensive hands-on training and personalized instruction, along with real-life experience that builds your knowledge and professionalism.

Blend art with skill in Baking and Pastry

Your imagination, creativity, and attention to detail—all come into play in CIM’s Baking and Pastry program. Train in the art, techniques, and business of preparing baked goods, pastries, and other confections.

At CIM, you learn through hands-on training and real-life experience. Class sizes are small, so you receive specific and individual attention from our award-winning chefs. With our climated-controlled chocolate and sugar lab, you quickly master baking, chocolate, and advanced sugar techniques and technologies.

The Baking and Pastry program at the Muskegon campus is accredited by the American Culinary Federation.

Develop techniques and skills in Culinary Arts

CIM’s Culinary Arts progam combines the creativity and technical skills of food preparation with the knowledge to succeed in the food service industry.

At CIM, you learn how to prepare a variety of culinary specialties using some of the most advanced equipment available, such as state-of-the-art convection ovens, grills, blast chillers, and other specialized equipment. Because CIM’s class sizes are small, with intensive hands-on labs and expert instruction from award-winning chefs combined with real-world experience, you quickly develop the techniques and skills needed to excel in a professional kitchen.

The Culinary Arts program at the Muskegon campus is accredited by the American Culinary Federation with Exemplary status.

Our instructors are working professionals who know the business, and what makes an establishment succeed. Our curriculum is built around real-world skills, such as menu preparation, food and beverage pairing, inventory and cost control, marketing, sales, and day-to-day management. Through our advanced learning technologies, intensive training, and real-world experience, you develop the expertise and skills you need for career success.
